Together
Together is a group of various results from risograph stencil debris from the UT Risography Lab. Processes from Together include: handmade paper collage with stencil image transfers using a hydraulic press, monoprints created by pushing mounds of stencils through a press bed, video of stencils scanned as film transparencies, and etching created by transferring ink from the stencils onto the surface of copper to act as a resistive ground. I am curious for materials to exist in multiple states to see what happens when they exist in processes they are not originally intended for. The stencils are memory holders – the colors indicate previously composed digital images. In the printing press they lose original visual imagery and combine to create image information reordered into new sequences. 2024-25.Risograph (5 Rhythms)
