Together
Together is a group of various results from risograph stencil debris from the UT Risography Lab. Processes from Together include: handmade paper collage with stencil image transfers using a hydraulic press, monoprints created by pushing mounds of stencils through a press bed, video of stencils scanned as film transparencies, and etching created by transferring ink from the stencils onto the surface of copper to act as a resistive ground. Focused on the potential for material to exist in new states, I brought the stencils into new contexts to see what can happens when they exist in methods they are not originally intended for. I consider the stencils representative of memories – the placement of colors on the stencils indicate where digital images were previously composed. In the printing press they lose original visual imagery and combine to create image information reordered in new sequences. 2024-25.Risograph (5 Rhythms)
